Horizon 1 seems cartooney, going back to it after being accustomed to the later games. I could never quite put my finger on it, but it just seemed to fit perfectly with the architecture and the general atmosphere. Horizon 2 was likewise warmer, but had a kind of 'haze' to it. Appropriate, since the whole game was set in summer in Australia. Horizon 3 seemed 'warmer', since the tones allowed the more orange side of the spectrum to stand out. which allows the bluish tones to stand out more, making it seem 'cool', even in the in-game summer. Having played all the Horizons, I think there's definitely a difference in the atmosphere of each of them. (Sometimes reading these threads, I feel like I'm playing an entirely different game altogether.)Įdited by user Wednesday, J5:44:59 PM(UTC)

And say what you will about H4's bones and inner-workings (totally jacked up), but the one thing H4 has over H3 is the visual the graphics are just above and beyond, full stop. Sure, H3 has a lot to like I still return to play it myself semi-regularly.

Plus it didn't have any of the time gated exclusive vehicle or persistent online economy/auction house nonsense. Not perfect, but it's the only Horizon game that really got the whole package right IMHO with good SP progression, MP, vehicle handling (although it was missing tuning), and a very interesting and diverse map with great driving roads (something that newer Horizons struggle with, either they get the map visual variety right or the roads, but not both). Personally, I still think FH1 is still the best game overall. Pretty much all the game modes are worse (especially MP), SP progression is a bad joke, the terrible mobile-inspired exclusive content design from FH3 has been amplified and is now the main focus of the game, and the map design just feels samey and boring compared to FH3 (at least there's more technical driving roads). As much as I enjoyed FH3, going back and playing it can be a bit frustrating with how slidey the cars are compared to FH4.įH4 really dropped the ball on game design though. I like Forza Horizon 4 too, but I hope they try to achieve something similar looking to Forza Horizon 3 for Forza Horizon 5.įH3 is indeed a much better game and a more interesting world map than FH4, but FH4 did make some substantial improvements to the driving model. I took a few screenshots of the moments in Forza Horzion 3 that blew me away, and I want to share some of them here: ĭo not get me wrong here. The skybox is one of the most realistic things I've ever seen in a video game in 25+ years. The game has absolutely incredible graphics. The vegetation textures look so much better than the ones in Forza Horizon 4. It's a good game, but Forza Horizon 3 is a great game. I'm not saying that Forza Horizon 4 is bad. The visuals, the amazing skybox, and the great music in the game in combination with the big and diverse map hooked me up immediately.

So I picked it up a few months ago and holy cow is this game good. Decided to try out Forza Horizon 3, as I saw people mentioning that it's the better game for them.

I've been playing Forza Horizon 4 for a little over a year now.
